Three Choirs' Concert
On Saturday 18th June, the Croydon Minster Choir of boys and men joined forces with two other first-class boys’ choirs: The Choir of the Chapel Royal, Hampton Court, and The Godfrey Searle Choir of Reigate Grammar School (formerly “Reigate Choristers”). The concert opened with a stunning rendition of Handel’s Zadok the Priest sung by a massed choir of over 100 boys and men in the splendour of Croydon’s civic church, followed by a wonderful selection of Anglican choral classics. The concert culminated in all the choirs singing Max Reger’s chorale cantata “Meinen Jesum lass ich nicht”, performed on the occasion of the centenary of Reger’s death.
