Monteverdi’s famous Mantuan masterpiece of 1610 is generally considered the most ambitious musical work before Bach and a prime example of Venetian choral and orchestral music of the early Baroque era. The Whitgift Chamber Choir, together with the Choirs of Croydon Minster, joined forces with His Majestys Sagbutts and Cornetts under the direction of Mr Ronny Krippner for what was splendid festival of early Baroque music.
